UPGRADE EXISTING MOUNTS
If you already have our V2 Transmission mount, then adding this upgraded top is as simple as unbolting the exsiting top plate and adding this one.
Increasing mount rigidity by nearly 25%, this top plate will help to ensure that all of the power is going to the wheels and not lost with excessive engine movement.
These upgraded plates will fit any of our version 2 transmission mounts - Stage 1, Stage 2 or Stage 3.
PERFECT FIT
Made to fit seamlessly with our existing PQ35/46 (MK5/6 based VW/Audi) and MQB (VW and Audi) transmission mounts, these replacement top plates are a quick change to add extra rigidity to the engine mount.
Each top plate kit comes with all hardware necessary for the swap inlcuding 4 extended M10 bolts + securing M3 counter sink screws (MQB only).
SOLID.
Cut from a single slab of 2" x 3" T-6061-T6 aluminum blank that we use for our engine mount base plates. These top plates are strong enough to handle the stress of higher HP environments. Each plate starts life as an 8lb block of 6061-T6 aluminum, and after machining is reduced to a little more than 9 oz.
We designed these plates for maximum strength, and we feel this is what justifies the price point. You can't make a diamond starting with cotton candy.
Do I Need An Upgraded Transmission Mount Top Plate?
In most cases, no. Our standard top plate is a great option for the majority of uses and installations. For those with high horsepower cars, or high horsepower aspirations, this upgraded top plate is a great choice to add rigidity and strength to your transmission mount.
